Blooming into Mindfulness has taken me in exciting new directions since its publication in January 2016, including book events, photography shows, and mindfulness workshops.

Join mindfulness advocate Martha Brettschneider and Carolyn Bagdoyan of Heart Tree Yoga for an interactive workshop that will help you approach the holidays with presence and a focus on self-care. Hosted by Grass Roots Fitness, this event will help you put on your own oxygen mask first so that you can be your best self for your loved ones this holiday season. Martha and Carolyn will lead the group through a series of mindfulness exercises (including, but not limited to, meditation) as well as mindful movement and stillness techniques for relieving stress and balancing energy. I’ll be selling my garden photography (notecards, matted prints, and my specialty metal prints that are suited to both indoor high humidity areas and outdoor living spaces). The indoor market features more than 80 hand crafters, boutiques, home businesses, and specialty food vendors. A perfect way to jumpstart your holiday shopping!

The show features the winners of Washington Gardener Magazine‘s 2015 Garden Photography contest. The winning entries are spectacular, and I’m humbled to be included in this group. My “Nandina Jewelry” will be displayed, which took first prize in the contest’s “Small Wonders” category. The show runs through August 31, 2015.

Sponsored by the Vienna Arts Society, the afternoon will feature artists in action all along Church Street, music, games for the kids, food, and beer and wine tastings. So excited to be part of this awesome community event!
