I tried to stop taking photographs but it didn’t work.
Once I completed my 365 Project on December 31, 2014, I intended to give myself a break. The challenge of taking and posting a photograph every day for a year turned out to be pretty exhausting (in case you missed my lessons learned post, check it out here).
But I’ve discovered that, just like with meditation, writing and exercise, photography has become an integral part of my well being. At the end of the day, if I haven’t sent a photograph into the world, I feel like I’ve left something undone.
So for those of you who are not regular social media users (I post my photos on Facebook and Google+, and will be making a concerted effort this year to boost my presence on Instagram and Pinterest), here, in no particular order, are my 10 favorite shots from January and February 2015.
Let me know which are your favorites in the comments!

I love them all. I also love a fundamental lesson for us all: Stop, look and appreciate the beauty and mystery around us. I’m as disappointed as anyone else about the impending snow. But it may be quite beautiful. It will be quiet. It may even be remembered “fondly” in the midst of heat and humidity this summer. Meanwhile, the earth serves us beauty all around us. We should appreciate it and respect it. Thank you for reminding us, and for sharing its (her?) beauty.

Thank you, Marcia, for understanding the core purpose of my photography. Accepting all that the Universe offers up (weather, life events, and the rest of it) and learning to find beauty even in the tiniest details has been both calming and fulfilling for me. Every day provides a new opportunity to practice the art of gratitude. xxoo Martha

As much as I love the photos, some of your captions are even better!
Martha says
Thank you Yoon. Even though the photos have taken over a big part of my creative output of late, the words still take precedence. Glad you enjoyed both, my friend! ~ Martha

Thanks, Martha, for sharing. It opens one’s imagination.

Thanks so much, Susan. The world could use a bit more opening of imagination, in my opinion, so your comment warms my heart. ;-) ~ Martha
